Your Excuses, Debunked.
Excuse #1: I don’t have time.
Actually, you don’t have time NOT to work out. Exercise really is one of the most important things you can do for your physical and mental health, your longevity, your self-esteem, your physical appearance, and to support your nutrition and sleep habits… I can’t really think of anything that should fall higher on your to-do list.
But hey - I’m human, too, so I totally get how you might think, “that’s easy for her to say! If fitness was my job, I’d have time for it, too! (eye roll)”
However, it’s only fair to let you know I struggle with it, too. I am a single mom (for 20 years now!) and have juggled multiple jobs, tricky finances, and single parenthood for half my life, so I get it! When you have a thousand balls in the air, it’s so easy to drop the “workout today” one… I understand that - so I’m talking to myself here, too. I do really love working out, but some busy days it feels like a luxury I can’t afford, and some tired days it feels like an extra chore I don’t want on my plate.
We have to remind ourselves that this (working out) is one thing we can do that is so good for our health on every level - such a solid investment in our future selves with a guaranteed ROI -
we simply can’t afford NOT to do it.
So, when you feel like you “don’t have time,” remember that ANY AMOUNT COUNTS. You don’t need a full hour, or 45 minutes, or even 30 minutes. Even 15 minutes a day matters!
IT ALL ADDS UP - 10 minutes in the morning, 5 minutes on your lunch break, 10 minutes in the evening… However you can sneak it in.
And as the saying goes -
